Anyone who is willing to act as Director and is permitted by law to do so may be appointed to  be a Director - either by election at the AGM by LymeForward members or by co-option by the existing Directors prior to election at the next AGM.

Directors' Powers and Responsibilities

Subject to the Articles, Directors have a general responsibility for the management of LymeForward. 

Their key responsibilities are:

  • governance and compliance with the Articles and all legal obligations;

  • financial oversight and reporting

  • Human Resources, including the recruitment and management of LymeForward staff.

LymeForward Coordinator/Manager

 Article 5, the Objects, states that LymeForward should provide the services of a coordinator to:

  • assist individuals and groups in fulfilling their particular objectives

  • coordinate and assist with identifying and implementing funding bids. 

The Directors also have the power to delegate to the coordinator responsibility for:

  • day-to-day operation of LymeForward's activities within the framework set by the Steering Group

  • routine management of LymeForward's administrative and financial arrangements

  • preparation of reports and agendas for general meetings, for the Steering Group (for which the coordinator acts as  secretary), and for the Directors.

NB: The job title was changed from LymeForward Coordinator to LymeForward Manager on the appointment of Chris Tipping in September 2018.
